7 Sinful Summer Smoothies

By admin, June 21, 2016

I’m not the kind of person to go out of their way to be healthy, but these seven smoothies are not only the perfect blend of sweet, light, and perfect for a summer breakfast or snack. They are also a 5 minute blend away from you.

  1. Peanut Butter & Banana Smoothie: This one had me at “Peanut Butter”, but go ahead and use almond or cashew butter if you’d prefer. If you grew up on Peanut Butter and Jelly, I would also suggest adding a tablespoon (or two) of Strawberry or Grape Jam.

  2. Homemade Hazelnut Milk Latte: At around 2pm, this one saves my life, with or without the hazelnut. If you like your coffee strong double the espresso shot and you’ve found your work break pick-me-up.

  3. Mango Avocado Smoothie: Feeling tropical? The Mango Avocado Smoothie is a thick, rich, and zingy mix of sweet and fresh. But to be honest, Mango is already a bit too thick for my taste, I add extra ice and a quarter cup of water to make sure everything slides up the straw smoothly.

  4. Apple Pie Smoothie: Have you ever found yourself craving apple pie right after smelling cinnamon? I don’t think I could wait hours for a pie to be baked, but a 5 minute smoothie will satisfy me. Don’t forget to add a scoop of ice cream and have your smoothie pie à la mode.

  5. Cookie Dough Protein Shake: Never thought you’d bulk up with a tasty shake? Think twice, unless you have something against cookies. I don’t condone protein shakes, and personally would replace the protein powder with a raw egg. If you’re going healthy, might as well go all out.

  6. Creamy Cashew Berry Smoothie: You knew berries had to make an appearance. This smoothie is jam packed with superfoods full of antioxidants, and the fresh berry pink color only makes you want more.

  7. Easy Paleo Strawberry Mousse: If you’ve ever head of paleo you’d think they never get any dessert, well they are slightly limited, but they can get very creative. If you find mousse a bit too heavy, just add a bit of diluted almond or coconut milk.

Now here are a bunch of devious recommendations to make these sinful smoothies just a bit more indulgent of my sweet tooth’s whims. You can add soaked oats to add fiber to your diet, If you’re a nut freak and you need the extra protein add hazelnut or almonds. I personally find myself dumping half a bar of chocolate (Whatever I have handy), and topping the smoothie off with caramel sauce. The last step is the most important, make sure you use a straw and sit back and relax.
